I began as most youngsters do, sketching with graphite on paper. I took two years of art classes in senior high school, where I was exposed to all different kinds of artistic expression, styles, and mediums.
Many years later, after education, career, and kids, I began to oil paint. I am self-taught and most of my artwork is realistic representation of my world.
I also enjoy completing the occasional painting in “ Alla Prima” and “In Plein Air“. I have done paintings totally in palette knife and also encaustic with bees wax. I like trying new styles. I feel an artist should not be set in just one technique or style, they should be creative and free to express themselves in whichever style they feel right for that project. I have tried water color and painted on board and wood. Occasionally I will do a painting with large brushes and heavy paint, but most of my artwork is completed with tiny brushes, like #20 and #10. My oils are professional quality and I prefer primed stretch canvas. I specialize in Portraiture but do seascapes and landscapes as well. I accept commissisons.
I can get lost for hours in my paintings, unaware of the hours, flying by.
